Buyer research
Common pre-purchase questions on the HSD Uppercut.
Three channels per cabinet: LF 1,200 W, MF 250 W, HF 100 W continuous, all 8 ohms nominal. A four-channel HSD KP Series amplifier runs one Uppercut on three channels and leaves the fourth free, many owners use it to drive a Southpaw front-fill, which shares the Uppercut's exact 8″ mid and 1.4″ compression driver.
For a lot of programs, no: the Uppercut is genuinely full-range down to 45 Hz (-3 dB) and 35 Hz (-10 dB), unusual reach for a top. For dance-floor weight, add the Switchback (32 Hz) or step to the 21″ FLH family for sustained low-end pressure.
The Haymaker is the large-format piece: 18″ LF, 10″ mid, four 1″ compression drivers, selectable 90/60/40-degree waveguides, 155 lbs, $8,500. The Uppercut is the medium-format answer: 15″ + 8″ + 1.4″, fixed 60 × 40 coverage, 128 lbs, and $5,400, with deeper standalone bass extension. If you need waveguide options or maximum SPL, Haymaker; if you want one box that covers most shows, Uppercut.
Yes, integrated fly points are standard, and optional custom risers are available for ground-stacked deployment with vertical aiming. At 128 lbs it is a practical two-person cabinet for touring and installs.
Every cabinet is built to order in Massachusetts, with lead times typically around 90 days. Each carries HSD's 5-year limited warranty, and free factory training is included when your system is complete. We will walk you through ordering and payment when we quote your system.
System design
The Uppercut covers most shows on its own; these are the pieces owners add around it.
Same 8″ mid and 1.4″ compression driver as the Uppercut, so fills and delays voice identically. 50 lbs, $2,000.
Powerful bass to 32 Hz in a truck-pack-friendly footprint. The right scale of sub for an Uppercut rig.
One 4-channel KP runs an Uppercut on three channels with the fourth free for a fill or monitor.
