The HSD KD Series delivers up to 20,000 W across four channels of high-efficiency Class-D amplification with a universal PFC power supply for worldwide multi-voltage operation. The same 64-bit, 96 kHz DSP engine as the KP Series provides FIR/IIR crossovers, per-channel limiting, and 100 speaker presets, with optional Dante, AES67, and AES3 inputs. Lo-Z (2/4/8 ohm) and Hi-Z (35/50/70/100 V) modes, Neutrik XLR, Speakon, and PowerCon connectors, and an up-side-down cooling design make it a true install-and-touring workhorse. Hand-built by Hennessey Sound Design in Massachusetts, and backed by a 5-year limited warranty.

Which KD model matches which HSD subwoofer?

The 4-10KD ($6,100, 2,500 W/ch) is the one-to-one amp for 4-ohm 21s: four Tomahawks or BattleAxes per amp. The 4-14KD ($7,200, 3,500 W/ch) matches the 6-ohm Battlehawk one per channel, or paralleled pairs of Eagles. The 4-20KD ($8,400, 5,000 W/ch) exists for the heavy hitters, Warhammers and paralleled Hammer pairs.

What makes the KD different from the KP?

Power and power supply. The KD steps output up to 20,000 W total and swaps to a universal PFC supply running 90–265 V AC at 50–60 Hz, plug into festival generators or overseas mains without a second thought. It adds 35 V and 50 V Hi-Z modes (plus 70/100 V), PowerCon inputs (32 A on the 14KD/20KD), and an up-side-down cooling design for dusty rack life. The KP Series remains the value platform for US 120 V work.

Is the DSP the same as the KP Series?

Yes, the identical 64-bit, 96 kHz double-precision engine: FIR filters to 1000 taps at 0.85 ms latency, FIR/IIR crossovers, per-channel RMS and peak limiting, 100 speaker presets with HSD tunings, and optional Dante, AES67, and AES3 inputs. Presets and settings move between KP and KD racks freely.

How clean is it?

THD below 0.05% with signal-to-noise ratios of 111 dB (4-10KD), 113 dB (4-14KD), and 115 dB (4-20KD), the 4-20KD is the quietest amplifier HSD sells while also being the most powerful. All three fit 2U and weigh 20 lbs or less.

Does the 5-year warranty cover the KD Series?

Yes. HSD's OEM amplifiers carry the same 5-year limited warranty as the cabinets, with amplifier service centers in Florida (US) and Spain.
