The Mantarray 60 is a high-output, arrayable point-source loudspeaker built for demanding professional applications. Its nominal 60 x 40-degree dispersion and exceptional off-axis performance deliver precise coverage and seamless integration in side-by-side array configurations. Integrated fly points and a compact 100 lb build make it equally at home flown on tour or installed in a venue. Hand-built by Hennessey Sound Design in Massachusetts, and backed by a 5-year limited warranty.

What makes the Mantarray 60 array-friendly?

Its nominal 60 × 40-degree pattern holds up off-axis, so cabinets splayed side-by-side sum cleanly instead of combing at the seams. HSD's 2-way and 3-way splay boards ($1,700 / $2,200) set precise horizontal angles for two- and three-wide arrays, see the accessories table on our HSD hub page.

What amplifier drives the Mantarray 60?

Two channels per cabinet: LF 800 W and HF 110 W continuous, 8 ohms per section. A four-channel HSD KP Series amplifier runs two Mantarrays, a two-wide array per amp, with HSD FIR presets loaded per channel.

How low does it play, and what goes underneath?

Response is 200 Hz to 20 kHz (-3 dB), reaching 100 Hz at -10 dB, it is engineered as the top of a horn-loaded stack, not a standalone box. The classic HSD deployment puts the Mantarray over a Cannon 18″ bandpass horn (65–220 Hz) over BattleAxe subs for a full-spectrum, all-horn wall.

Mantarray 60 or Mantarray 90?

Pattern and reach. The 60 is the array building block: tighter 60 × 40 coverage and slightly hotter 111 dB HF sensitivity for multi-cabinet fronts and longer throw. The Mantarray 90 covers 90 × 40 and extends alone down to 90 Hz (-3 dB) for wider rooms and simpler rigs. Same 12″ + 1.4″ recipe, call us for Mantarray 90 pricing.

Is there a variant with an 18 Sound driver?

Yes, HSD builds a Mantarray 60 variant (model PS21294LF) with an 18 Sound low-frequency driver at the same $6,500 retail. It is listed in the additional products table on our HSD hub page; ask us about driver availability when you order.
