Touring-grade DSP amplifier platform with 96 kHz FIR processing.

The HSD KP Series packs up to 10,000 W of high-headroom amplification into a 2U chassis with an extra-large capacitive-touch TFT display and 64-bit, 96 kHz double-precision DSP. Four-channel processing includes FIR/IIR crossovers, per-channel RMS and peak limiting, 100 manufacturer speaker presets, and Smaart integration, with optional Dante, AES67, and AES3 digital inputs. Advanced power management delivers similar power per channel into any impedance and exceptional sharing into asymmetrical loads. Hand-built by Hennessey Sound Design in Massachusetts, and backed by a 5-year limited warranty.

Which KP model do I need?

The 2-5KP ($3,850) gives two 2,500 W channels, ideal for a pair of subs or bi-amped monitors. The 4-6KP ($4,800) spreads 6,000 W across four channels: the natural single-amp answer for one tri-amped Haymaker or Uppercut with a spare channel. The 4-10KP ($5,600) delivers 2,500 W on all four channels for sub duty, four Tomahawks or eight Switchbacks from one 2U box.

What does the DSP platform include?

64-bit double-precision processing at 96 kHz with FIR filters up to 1000 taps and 0.85 ms latency, FIR/IIR crossovers, per-channel RMS and peak limiting, 100 manufacturer speaker presets (HSD tunings included), and Smaart integration for measurement-driven setup. Optional Dante, AES67, and AES3 digital inputs; control over a two-port Ethernet switch or USB.

What does 'advanced power management' mean in practice?

The KP platform delivers similar power per channel into any impedance and shares power exceptionally well into asymmetrical loads, so a channel driving an 8-ohm HF section and a channel driving a 4-ohm sub pair both get what they need from the same chassis, without the derating games of conventional amps.

Can I use the KP Series on 70V/100V install lines?

Yes, Hi-Z 70 V and 100 V modes are built in alongside Lo-Z operation, so one platform covers loudspeaker duty and distributed install lines. Note the KP runs on 100–125 V AC 60 Hz power; for worldwide multi-voltage operation, step up to the KD Series with its universal PFC supply.

Does the 5-year warranty cover amplifiers?

Yes. HSD backs its OEM amplifiers with the same 5-year limited warranty as its cabinets, with amplifier service centers in Florida (US) and Spain.
