Bar with outdoor patio · Flown subs · Weatherized patio rig

A bar where the dual 18 flies from the ceiling and the patio handles Texas weather.

A San Antonio bar with a covered outdoor patio. The operator wanted a real DJ-grade low end indoor without giving up floor space, plus a patio rig that would handle direct sun, rain, and cold without being babied. We flew an SSP218 dual 18 production sub off the ceiling inside, paired with DiaMon coaxial tops. Outside on the covered patio, we flew another SSP218 in the structure and ran weatherized DiaMon Rack Powered coaxials in polyurea finish. Two zones, one rack, one FBS control surface.

The brief

What the owners told us going in.

The operator already had a fixed bar layout when we walked it. Real estate was used up by booth seating, the DJ booth, and the bar service line. Indoor needed real DJ-grade low end without floor-stacked subs eating square footage. The covered outdoor patio sits exposed to weather but the operator wanted the same brand language and the same control experience as the inside, not a second-rate patio rig.

What we put in the room.

Fullblast Sound (on the indoor + covered patio split)

Camp 1604 is a great example of a bar where the inside and the outside have to feel like one experience without one ruining the other. The customer wanted real low end indoors for the DJ and live nights, and the patio had to handle Texas weather year round without anybody having to baby it. Inside, we flew an SSP218 dual 18 production sub off the ceiling. Flying the sub kept the floor clear for the layout the operator already had built. The dual 18 gives the inside that punchy chest hit on the floor without taking up real estate the bar needed for booths and the DJ booth. Indoor tops are BASSBOSS DiaMons, the 12 inch coaxial install variant. Compact, pristine highs, single acoustic image at every listening position. Out on the covered patio, we put another SSP218 hanging in the covered structure. The cover protects the cabinet from direct rain. The patio sub gives the outdoor crowd the same low end feel as the inside without bleeding back through the wall. For the patio tops, we ran DiaMons Rack Powered in the weatherized polyurea finish. Rack Powered means the amplification lives inside our rack, not in the cabinet, so the speakers stay small and tidy while we centralize the amps where we can service them without going out on the patio. The polyurea finish handles direct sun and rain year round. This is a good standard build for an operator who wants a bar with a real outdoor patio. Two zones, one rack, one control surface, no compromises on either side.
