Premium poolside lounge · Meyer Sound · ADJ · FBS control
A boutique-hotel poolside lounge with an outdoor stage, food truck, indoor cocktail bar, and 20 hotel rooms needed a system that crossed three brands and three weather conditions. The outdoor stage runs Meyer Sound 900 LFC subs and Ultra X42 tops (IP65-rated weatherized versions, year-round outdoor). The indoor cocktail bar runs BASSBOSS DiaMons and SSP118. The lighting is ADJ Hydrospot 2 moving heads and Jolt Panel FXIP. All of it lives on a single FBS control network.
The brief
The co-owner described the venue as a Soho-vibe boutique experience for New Orleans. The build had to span outdoor pool-stage, indoor cocktail lounge, and back-of-house programming for the hotel side. Meyer Sound was the brand choice for the outdoor stage (the operator wanted reference-grade voicing for jazz and live acts). BASSBOSS was the right answer for the indoor cocktail bar (compact coaxial install). ADJ ran the lighting throughout. No single-brand dealer could have quoted the room. FBS designs and programs the integration.
The build
| Role | Product | Qty | Why this cabinet |
|---|---|---|---|
| Outdoor stage subs | Meyer Sound 900 LFC (IP65) | 4 cabinets, ground-stacked | Single 18 weatherized for year-round outdoor deployment. Built-in amplification, no outboard rack required. IP65 covers protect the amp and electronics from sun and rain. Looks identical to the standard 900 LFC, just hardened. |
| Outdoor stage tops | Meyer Sound Ultra X42 (IP65) | 4 cabinets, flown 2 per side | Compact reference Meyer tops in IP-rated outdoor form factor. Mounted on flying plates, self-powered, easy to deploy. Linear, clear, precise sound day and night. |
| Indoor cocktail bar tops | BASSBOSS DiaMon coaxials | 4 cabinets | Compact 12-inch coaxial install loudspeakers for the cocktail bar zone. Same acoustic image at every listening position. Flush install per the design language. |
| Indoor cocktail bar sub | BASSBOSS SSP118 | 1 cabinet | Single 18 install sub for the cocktail bar. Bottom octave without crowding the floor or wall space. |
| Lighting fixtures | ADJ Hydrospot 2 + Jolt Panel FXIP | Pool stage + bar coverage | ADJ Hydrospot 2 moving heads for the outdoor stage (waterproof, color + gobo + beam). Jolt Panel FXIP for ambient and accent across the lounge. Networked DMX, programmable scenes. |
| FBS control system | Multi-zone network DSP with wireless control | 1 main + wireless surfaces | Ties pool stage, indoor cocktail bar, and lighting into a single programmable system. The bartender flips the room between pool-day, evening-stage, and late-night-lounge modes from a phone. |
The result
The co-owner on first hearing the system: "We definitely have the best speaker system in New Orleans. Not even the competition, honestly. You guys are stepping up New Orleans game." The pool-stage rig runs day and night in Louisiana weather without intervention. The transition from outdoor pool to indoor cocktail bar is a single source switch on the FBS control surface, not a separate operation.
In their own words
From the interview
Elizabeth
Co-owner
Working with you and Ben has been phenomenal and so easy to do everything. It is so effortless for someone like me who knows nothing about any of this. I know from the test runs that we definitely have the best speaker system in New Orleans. Like, not even a question. Not even the competition, honestly. You guys are stepping up New Orleans' game. This place looks amazing. It was historically built as a motel, so we have 20 hotel rooms. Boutique hotel, I guess you could say. We have a food truck on site rotating weekly or monthly. We have the beautiful bar and lounge area. And of course we have a beautiful pool, some Sony lounge chairs, and an amazing stage to round it all out. I will basically be living here once it is done.
