After-hours nightclub · US-first CCM · ADJ lighting
A downtown Austin after-hours club, open 2 AM to 7 AM, called us on a Sunday afternoon needing to open in two weeks. We drove down from Houston that night, mapped the room, and designed the build. The room is one of the first US installs of the CCM coaxial cabinet (12-inch coaxial with pristine highs and minimal control work). Four CCMs cover the dance floor, each of three VIP zones has its own CCM pair with independent volume, plus DiaMons in the back VIP, BB15 + SV9 covering ambient zones, and ADJ lighting throughout. All on FBS control programming.
The brief
The operator had a brief window. He had built the room (booths, VIP areas, DJ booth) before calling. Real estate was already used up. The build had to fit speakers into a room that did not have room for them, deliver headliner-DJ SPL on the dance floor, and keep the VIP areas clean for bottle service customers paying for the conversation. Sunday call. Two weeks to open. We made it happen.
The build
| Role | Product | Qty | Why this cabinet |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dance-floor tops (US-first CCM install) | CCM coaxial install loudspeakers | 4 cabinets | One of the first US installs of the CCM. 12-inch coaxial with minimal control work, very loud, very clean. The pristine highs and the coherent imaging mean the entire dance floor reads consistent. |
| Dance-floor sub array | SSP218 dual 18 + SSP118 single 18 cluster | 1 SSP218 + 2 SSP118 on the sides | Mix of dual 18 and single 18 to fit the available real estate without sacrificing low end. The dual 18 carries the center; the single 18s flank. |
| VIP zone 1 (right) | CCM coaxial pair | 2 cabinets | Raised VIP area gets its own CCM pair with independent volume on the FBS control system. Customers control their own area. |
| VIP zone 2 (left) | CCM coaxial pair | 2 cabinets | Second raised VIP area mirrors the first. Independent volume from the dance floor. |
| VIP zone 3 (back) | DiaMon coaxials | 2 cabinets | Back VIP area runs DiaMons (12-inch coaxial install variant). Same acoustic image as the CCMs; chosen for the architectural angle of the back wall. |
| VIP room subs | BB15 single 15 install subs | Per VIP | Compact single 15 install subs in the VIP rooms give the VIP customers a real low-end experience without crowding the seating. |
| Quiet-zone fill | SV9 single 9 reference top | In ambient areas | Small carbon-fiber-cone reference tops cover ambient zones at low SPL without overpowering conversation. |
| Lighting | ADJ lighting fixtures | Throughout | ADJ moving heads + accent panels integrated with the audio control. Programmed scenes that match the music programming. |
| FBS control system | Per-VIP-zone volume + master control | 1 main + wireless surfaces | Management dials each VIP zone independently as the night moves. The dance floor stays banging while VIP customers hold conversations. |
The result
BC: "If you were in here, you would never believe those cabinets are also in here because they are so loud, yet they are so clean and clear." The system delivered exactly what the operator wanted: anywhere you stand, hi-fi stereo. Headliner DJs played the opening week; VIP customers held conversations at the same time; the FBS control programming flipped between modes without operator intervention.

Fullblast Sound (on the US-first CCM install)
The Cut is an after hours club. They open at 2 AM and they party hard until 7 AM. The club owners had an idea of what they wanted, and they gave us a call on a Sunday afternoon and asked if we could come down immediately that night. They needed to open in two weeks, so we were in Houston. We ran down to Austin at 1 o'clock in the morning. We mapped it all out. We got it all put together to make his design dream become a reality. Real estate was pretty much already used up. They already had all the booths built, the VIP area, the DJ booth, and we needed to come up with a solution to fill the room with bass and really crisp, clean highs. It was not really a challenge, but we made it a reality. This is one of the first venues in the United States to utilize the brand new BASSBOSS CCM cabinet. These are going to be a staple in clubs across the land. These cabinets are really awesome because they have properties that are very similar to the diamonds, but they are much easier to install because the cabinets have a different angle built into them already. The CCM is a 12 inch coaxial cabinet, very powerful, with minimal control. You are not going to have to deal with the mains and stuff because they are very easy to set up. Basically, just plug and play your power and your audio input and turn it on, and you are ready to rock and roll. The CCMs are small, but they are super loud. This is an after hours club where they are going to be having headliner DJs from all over the place playing house music at really high volumes, and this place is going to be super packed. Everyone in here is going to be getting really pristine, clear sound from the CCM cabinets. If you were in here, you would never believe those cabinets are also in here because they are so loud, yet they are so clean and clear. In addition to the four CCMs that are powering this dance floor, we have three VIP rooms. Each VIP area is also powered by a pair of CCMs. Over to my right, you have a VIP booth area with two CCMs. To my left, another raised VIP area with two CCMs. Then at the back of the room, there is a big VIP area with DiaMon MK3s. So anywhere you go in this club, you are going to have first generation sound. It is going to sound like a hi fi stereo anywhere you are at in here.
